Dan Sigafoos is not your ordinary personal trainer.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dan Sigafoos inherited a strong sense of community, deep confidence, and a great curiosity about life beyond the Heartland of America.
Dan proved to be a superb athlete. He excelled in swimming and soccer as a teenager, and he played varsity golf in college. He worked as a lifeguard at the age of 16, became a swim coach at 19, and drew on those experiences when he coached a Masters Swim Team in Los Angeles.
After receiving his BA in Sports Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University, Dan set out to explore the world and to ‘self re-discover’.
He hiked the entire Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia, worked as a commercial salmon fisherman in Alaska for two seasons, and bicycled with two of his best buds from Vancouver to Los Angeles.
Through experience and reflection, Dan realized that his calling was to connect with people, teaching and building a strong, healthy and active community.
In 2010, Dan moved to New York City with the ambitious goal of becoming a leader in the fitness industry. After establishing the groundwork as a Master Trainer at Crunch Fitness for four years, Dan created SIGAFIT to provide personalized fitness programs for people seeking to become their best selves. Today, Dan lives, works and trains clients from all fitness background and capabilities in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is sought out for his expertise and for his ability to make exercise fun.
